Lodging + Stuff To Do

Food + Drinks

  • Boon Eat + Drink: there's a picture of the chef holding beets so you know it's good. (Also recommended by a friend who recently traveled to the area)
  • Big Bottom Market: wine bar with some food, by the Boon Eat + Drink folks
  • Stumptown Brewery: so OG they registerd stumptown.com before the coffee people did
  • Garden Grill: good for grub with a decent little patio for enjoying the weather
  • Raymond's Bakery: allegedly legit.
  • Applewood Inn: if you'd like at least one super-fancy meal while you're relaxing. We recommend reservations.
  • Russian River Pub: as seen on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". So there's that.
  • Highland Dell: has a bar! And serves German food.
  • Village Inn: Also has a bar! And serves food.

We heartily encourage you to stay close by in Monte Rio for the holiday weekend. It’s a charming little town and we plan to include all guests staying nearby in additional festivities before and after our wedding day.

We’ve secured a wedding headquarters at the Big Yellow House and the Monte Rio Cottages and while these will hold some guests, it’s not enough space to accommodate everyone. With that in mind, here are the places we recommend—featuring hotel options and rental properties (be sure to join the self-organizing Facebook Group to find other wedding go-ers if you want to get a house).

    Vacation Rentals

If you want to rent a house with a larger group, either for more fun or to save some money, we found these websites really helpful:

Monte Rio “Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn” (Say whaaat?)

On the other hand, if you like staying in a private room when away from home, the best options in Monte Rio are:

    • Rio Villa (11 rooms available, 3 night minimum, rooms from $139-209)
    • Village Inn (10 rooms available, 3 night minimum, rooms from $145-235)
    • Highland Dell (Completely booked with wedding guests!)

      Neighboring Areas

There are a few nearby towns (5-15 minutes away) that offer additional lodging. Listed in order of proximity:

      • Guerneville
      • Rio Nido
      • Jenner

A few more options, just in case:

      • Duncans Mills (close, but potentially full of Jerry Garcia festival-goers)
      • Forestville
      • Santa Rosa (a 30-minute drive away)
